Home exchange

The practice of home exchange, started in the 50s, consists in living at the person's place with whom you make the exchange and vice versa, during a specified period and by mutual agreement.

Cases of robbery and damage are extremely rare and you don't need to own your apartment to exchange it.

Thus, home exchange offers many advantages:

  • economic: no costs for accommodation or car rental, catering costs reduced, thus a saving of 50 to 60% on a journey;
  • friendly: explore the region apart from mainstream tours;
  • convenient: the guest can feed the dog or water the plants;
  • comfortable: a true home with all necessary equipment;
  • safe: your home will not remain unoccupied, thereby reducing the risk of burglary.
For all these reasons, home exchange brings each year new enthusiasts throughout the world.

That is why we decided to create a service of Exchange of Lodging with Services Accessible (ELSA) between persons with disabilities, thus encouraging persons with disabilities and their family members to go in holiday. This service goes much further than the basic home exchange.

In addition to the advantages offered by the classical home exchange, ELSA proposes:

  • home optimal accessibility: people exchanging their homes are chosen according to their own needs matching yours for housing equipment and facilities
  • Holiday at lower costs: this home exchange totally cuts out the accommodation budget. So you can redistribute your holiday budget and therefore allow yourself extra expenses such as a restaurant or any other activity (if available).
  • A network of dedicated professional support services: the people you exchange the home with provide a list of service network, home help, carers, nurses…
  • A rewarding feedback experience: you can exchange tourist information, great ideas for your holidays, but also on technical aids, equipment, a number of information you can share with ELSA.

Accessibility
Offering a service dedicated to the disabled, whatever disability it is, we must provide you an accessible website. We are currently working hard to be able to submit a site to the Accessiweb standards for the complete opening of the site in early December.
